As a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis, the downtown district in Crystal Springs suffered lost revenue and decreased visitation between 2020 and 2022. Business closures occurred as a result of mandatory closures, capacity restrictions, and a decrease in visitors to the downtown district. 

In an effort to support existing businesses and create a more hospitable environment for future businesses, Main Street Crystal Springs will invest $161,400.00  in our downtown district through a Façade Master Plan, which will be made public to businesses in our district that faced a negative financial impact due to the pandemic. This redevelopment program will seek to improve the quality of life in our downtown district and encouraging further investment, ultimately helping to offset the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business district. 

Our project will consist of the development of a Façade Master Plan for businesses in downtown Crystal Springs. This project will help support the downtown area by improving the appearance of existing buildings which will help stimulate redevelopment and private sector capital investment by proactively addressing deteriorating property conditions and encouraging improvements which increases business activity and economic vitality.

This Façade Master Plan will serve as a solution to the negative impact of COVID-19 on the businesses in downtown Crystal Springs. This project aims to facilitate commercial revitalization, boost the local economy and increase tourism.
